Sebastian Vettel won the Japanese Grand Prix as Mark Webber finished second to extend his lead in the world title race in a triumphant day for the Red Bulls at Suzuka on Sunday.
It was the perfect result for the team, who dominated the rain-hit race from the opening practice sessions on the Friday with the Vettel securing his second straight win on the circuit.
The German led from pole position ahead of his teammate after they shared the front of the grid from final qualifying earlier in the day. It had been put back after a torrential downpour on Saturday washed out the action.
It was Red Bull's third 1-2 finish of the season but Ferrari's Fernando Alonso put up a brave fight to finish 1.8 seconds behind Webber in third place.
The McLarens of reigning champion Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton finished fourth and fifth, with Hamilton losing more ground in the title race after more problems with his gearbox.
The 2008 champion had suffered a five-place grid penalty after having to change his gearbox in practice and a similar penalty now awaits for the next round in Korea.
